It’s that time of year – here is my best social media advice for real estate agents for 2022! Wondering what to incorporate in your social media plan for 2022 as a real estate agent or broker? Here are five things to consider when mapping out your 2022 plan!
Tip #1: Be intentional and have a plan
Don’t let social media be a “bolt-on” to your business – meaning you bolt it on when you have time. The agents and brokers that we work with in our #GetSocialSmart Academy that are getting the biggest results from social media are being intentional with their time. One way to do this is to time-block daily, weekly, and monthly to stay organized and on-task. Consistency breeds efficiency!
Tip #2: Remember, relationships are first
Real estate is a relationship business. You need to intentionally connect with people – your clients and prospective clients on social media. Don’t be a “drive-by liker” but take time to engage and leave meaningful comments.
Tip #3: Create content you own
The best type of content you can post in 2022 is content that is in your voice, with your opinion and personality. There is a sea of noise out there – and one of the ways to stand out is to create timeless pillar content. Remember, social media is rented ground. Pillar content is content that may take a bit more time to create or produce but it’s something you can share today, three months from now, six months from now and even next year. It’s valuable information in your voice and it helps to establish yourself as the thought leader in your market. Also – for 2022, it’s vital to consider creating short-form content or “edutainment” as I like to call it. Instagram Reels, TikTok and even YouTube shorts are great examples of short-form content. This type of content helps you to grow your audience and also speaks to the know, like, trust factor!
Tip #4: You don’t have to be everywhere
You don’t have to be all things to all people – choose one or two platforms to focus on that you enjoy spending time and where your clients are hanging out! Not sure? Ask them!
Tip 5: Don’t outsource
Social media is social – don’t hand off your voice to someone else. You can certainly work with an assistant, or someone to help edit or schedule your content but remember – you need to be the one to show up, engage and showcase your expertise. Also, the leads you get from great content are SO much better!
