How can you best repurpose content? In this video I’m sharing my tips for repurposing content by working smarter, not just harder.
Tip one: Start with pillar content. Pillar content is content that might take a bit of time, money or resources. It’s content that’s in your voice. Content that has your opinion, that has your personality. It’s content like video content, Facebook Live content, podcast content, or blog content. Social media is rented ground. We don’t own it. So when we think about repurposing content, we want to number one, start with pillar content.
Tip two: Brainstorm ways to repurpose content. Once we put together our pillar content plan, now we’re going to brainstorm all the different ways that we could repurpose that content. Here are a few ideas. If you have a video you can post it on YouTube. You can also take that video and upload it directly on Facebook. You might use a service like Rev.com to transcribe that video and turn it into a blog post. You could post the video on LinkedIn. On Instagram, you could do an Instagram Story about the video. You could also upload that video to IGTV. If you have an email database, you could put the video link in your weekly or monthly newsletter.
Tip three: Decide on your timing. What are you going to share today? What does that look like next week? What does that look like next month? Two tools we really love for this is Asana and Google Sheets.
