Now more than ever, real estate agents need to get creative and stay safe when it comes to open houses. In this video, we share two ideas for how you can do a virtual open house. Please note – please stay safe and abide by all of your local and state rules! When in doubt – ask your broker!
- In person. If you are able to, go to the home and give people a sneak-peek into the home using FB Live on your phone. Remember – you don’t need to show everything. Start at the front door – what are the 3—5 key areas you are going to showcase. Ask people to comment or ask questions. Also, promote the Facebook Live in advance on Facebook or any of your other social media platforms.
- Virtual open house. For this, you are going to go live on Facebook from your home. First, before you go live, gather all the assets you have – property photos, videos, copy from flyer or MLS – gather those in one place. You can go live from your mobile device but I recommend going live from your computer on your business page. How? Go to your business page. Find the live button – write a few notes about the FB Live (i.e. “Join me for a virtual open house today for 123 Main Street! Questions? Comment below!”)
Once you go live, as you are talking about certain features – bring up those images on your screen. You can screenshare for free with Facebook Live or you may consider using a third-party tool like Be.Live or Zoom.
