How to Use Instagram for Real Estate Agents

Instagram is one of the fastest growing social media platforms for real estate. Here are three of the areas to focus on for Instagram!

  1. Instagram Feed. The feed includes photos and videos up to one minute. The feed has changed over the years and now – quality over quantity is key. Carousel photos are getting a tremendous amount of traction as well! Here is an example of a carousel post. Two of my favorite apps for creating content in the feed are Canva and Wordswag.
  2. Instagram Stories. Instagram Stories are blowing up! More and more people are watching and interacting with Stories on a daily basis. If you are just posting to your feed and not Stories – you may be missing out. What is the difference between the feed and stories? The feed is like the best moment or two at an event but the stories is your story behind the story (it’s the unscripted behind-the-scenes.) Stories help to build relationships! A few of my fave apps for creating fun Stories are Unfold and A Color Story.
  3. IGTV. Instagram TV is Instagram’s answer for longer form video. You can add video up to 10 minutes on IGTV. If you’re already creating video content on YouTube you can repurpose this over on IGTV. A few people who I think are doing this really well are Paul Zweband and Heather Scott – check out their Instagram accounts!
