Are you making these mistakes with your Facebook marketing? Today I’m sharing three of the biggest mistakes I see agents and brokers making when it comes to their Facebook marketing.
Number one, over-posting. I see this pretty often where an agent or broker gets really fired up and they’ve got a new listing and all of the sudden there’s 16 posts in my news feed, all from them. So if you’re over-posting, reel it back a little.
Mistake number two, under-posting. Sometimes I go to Facebook and go, “Whatever happened to so-and-so?”, because I never see them post anymore. Maybe they got really fired up and they went to a conference and they set up a Facebook account and then they haven’t done anything with it since, and it’s a little bit like crickets.
So the balance is quality not just quantity, and having a system and a schedule makes a big, big difference.
The third mistake I see is not posting original content. I get it, you want to be on Facebook, everyone’s told you it’s important to be on Facebook, but what I see a lot of agents and brokers doing is they’re just sharing everybody else’s content. They’re sharing someone else’s article and someone else’s video and someone else’s post. So take the time to share your original content, because nobody can say it like you can say it. Nobody can have the opinion or the experience like you can say it. And as I always say, lean into who you are and who you’re not. If you’re not creating original content on Facebook, whether that’s Facebook Live or recorded video or any other type of original content, it’s a big mistake you’re missing, and you’re leaving a lot of money on the table.
