Snapchat! Are you in real estate and are you wondering, “Well, how the heck can you use Snapchat for your business?” This vlog is for you! Today I’m sharing a few tips on how you can leverage Snapchat for real estate more.
Tip number one. First of all, ask your clients. A lot of you might be wondering, “Are my clients even on Snapchat?” Just ask. Especially if you’re working with any kind of first time home buyers or maybe people who are of a little bit of a younger demographic. Just ask. But I’d also say don’t assume. I have lots of friends of all different demographics, all different backgrounds who are on Snapchat. So my big tip number one is don’t assume and ask your clients if they’re hanging out on Snapchat. And if they are hanging out on Snapchat, what a great way to connect and engage with them on the platform that they’re at. Because that’s what it’s all about, right? It’s about not necessarily being everywhere. You don’t have to be on Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, every single platform. But just ask your clients are they on Snapchat.
Tip number two. Use the platform and have fun with it and then use that content elsewhere. What do I mean by that? One of the biggest things I love about Snapchat is that you can actually take a number of quick videos that all get stitched together into a one minute video. So when you’re using Snapchat, it’s either these quick photos or quick videos that get stitched together in your 24 hour story that disappears. Well, I have sort of hacked the system a little bit and sometimes I want to create a one minute video or a 30 second video. And what’s great about that is I’ll shoot it consistently and I’ll shoot it in bursts of 15 seconds and I won’t maybe post it to Snapchat because maybe it’s a video that I want to share over on Facebook or it’s a video that I want to share with my database. So instead of posting it to Snapchat, I will just use Snapchat for the filter and then download it and then put it somewhere else. Maybe I’ll share it in my Academy Facebook group, maybe I’ll share it to my database, maybe I’ll share it on my blog. So sometimes just using the app as a way to use the filters is a little bit of a hack.
My other big tip when it comes to Snapchat is use Snapchat as a way to engage with other people, but don’t be spamming. This happens all the time. I open up my Snapchat app, I’m like, “Oh, look. Suzy sent me a Snap,” and I realize it’s just her new listing. So if you’re doing that stuff, if you’re going to Snap me, Snap me something personal. Maybe it’s a comment on something I Snapped about. You want to ask me a question or you want to engage with me. You just want to say hi. That’s awesome. Don’t just if you’re promoting a listing. You can use Snapchat to talk about your listings. That’s perfectly fine. Have fun with it. But share that to your story, don’t just like spam all of your Snapchat friends. No spamming on Snapchat. Just like any other social media platform.
So those are a few of my quick and easy tips. Ask your clients, see if they’re there, engage with them there, use the filters on Snapchat and maybe repurpose that content, have fun with that, and then lastly as we all know don’t be a spammer. Those are just a few of my favorite Snapchat tips. By the way, I don’t know if you’ve got my free download. Click the image below to download our Snapchat for Business Cheat-Sheet.
