Today we’re talking about one of my favorite social media platforms, Snapchat!
Alright, we’re going to share a few of my favorite Snapchat hacks. First of all, one of the reasons I love Snapchat is because it’s a little bit of a quieter platform. Instead of the thousand of people I’m connected with on Facebook, Snapchat is just a little bit smaller, it’s a little bit more personal, so it’s a way to kind of share my behind-the-scenes as I’m out and about.
So, a few hacks that I love. First of all, I love to use Snapchat as a way to highlight other people that I also know are on Snapchat. So, if I happen to be at an event or I happen to be chatting with somebody who’s also on Snapchat, face to face, maybe we have a meeting, whatever it might be, I love to do a quick snap and not only share it to my story, but I will share it with them also. It’s a great way to highlight that person. I also love to edit my snap and make sure to give that person a shoutout and put their snap code right in that snap. And, it’s a great way to recognize that person, but also share something in the moment as you’re out and about.
Another tip I’ll share with you when it comes to Snapchat is, filters, filters, filters. Okay, I love filters when it comes to Snapchat. I think it’s one of the most fun parts of Snapchat and I think it’s one of the things that really keeps Snapchat ahead of the game in a lot of ways. So using fun filters, one of the tips that I recommend when you’re using a fun filter is that you can actually turn the camera around and so, the filter is not necessarily on you, but when you turn the camera around there’s so many great things that Snapchat is doing when it comes to augmented reality, really kind of having fun with your environment.
One of the things when it comes to Snapchat is, getting really creative, right? It’s a very creative app.
Have fun with those filters whether it’s the little bunny ears for yourself or if you’re not quite ready to put those on yourself, turn that around and use some of the filters that are available when you’re out and about and you’re showcasing your community, and your listings, and things like that, and just kind of have fun with it.
The last little hack I will give you when it comes to Snapchat is you can import photos or videos from your phone, from your camera roll into Snapchat. And, it use to be that Snapchat had this white border that would surround all of your photos or videos when that happened. Well as of pretty recently, you can now upload photos and videos into Snapchat and it doesn’t have that white border, which is fantastic. And, you can also edit it, you can add some text, and all kinds of fun doodles and things like that. In fact, when you’re importing a photo, if you’ve never done this before when you import a photo into Snapchat, you actually have more filters and more kind of fun ways that you can edit and really get fun and creative when it comes to your Snapchat content.
The big key I have found with Snapchat is don’t take yourself too seriously. Have fun with it, don’t get on that platform and sell, sell, sell. It’s a great place to build community, it’s a great place to connect with that next generation, the Gen X, Gen Y, the millennials, but it’s also a great place to connect with some amazing agents and brokers all over the country who are using Snapchat as a way to share that sort of behind-the-scenes in to their life.
