Facebook’s Call to Action feature debuted in December 2014, giving you an additional method of boosting your online marketing efforts using the now-ubiquitous platform. “Designed to bring a business’s most important objective to the forefront of its Facebook presence,” the site says in introducing this feature, “call-to-action buttons link any destination on or off Facebook that aligns with a business’s goals.”

So how does it work? You have the option of choosing between seven calls to action:

  • Use App

The beauty of the Call to Action buttons is that you can mix them up depending on the element to which you’re hoping to call an audience’s attention. Here’s a breakdown of how you’ll want to use these.

Book Now: If you’re looking to bring in potential clients and get them to commit to consulting calls or introduction appointments, this is your option. It can also be helpful in moving people off the fence and into your sphere of influence.

Contact Us: Here’s your chance to let visitors have their voice be heard. This includes asking questions about your business, policies and offerings.

Use App: This further brings your Facebook followers into your business by encouraging them to use either your mobile app or Facebook app, making it easier than ever for them to engage with you.

Play Game: Here’s a way for your followers to have an enjoyable experience while simultaneously learning more about your offerings and hopefully deciding to take you up on them.

Shop Now: This can be a great method of directing visitors to an online product page or integrated shopping cart, sending them directly to your product – and a method to purchase it.

Sign Up: Here’s where you can grow your email list – and thus your database of current and potential clients. This is key.

Watch Video: Want to tell your story in a compelling, native way? This option gives you the chance to do just that, making your business accessible and entertaining to clients of all stripes.
